About Me
.
The most rewarding aspect of working with technology is the integration of technical skills with artistic vision.
The clean and logical interplay of various pages of code all working in concert to produce content that's efficient, stylized, and responsive is appealing to me.
I am new to programming but I'm enthusiastic about learning new languages. I have begun my journey towards proficiency with JavaScript and jQuery fundamentals, but next semester I will start to learn C#, PHP, and Python.
I have years of experience using Adobe Photoshop for a variety of personal and professional projects.
I'm completing my double major at Montgomery College in Education Field; Secondary Education-English and Early Childhood and Special Education. I love teaching because it's an opportunity to interact with people across cultural boundaries. It's an experience that's as enriching for me as I hope it's instructive for my students.
I learned that HTML5 is the latest revision of the Hypertext Markup Language, the code used to create web pages. HTML5 is designed to be independent of any browser or device. It includes new features like video playback, drag-and-drop, as well as enhancements to existing features like forms and tables.
View ExercisesI learned how to use CSS 3 to simplify the visual design. CSS 3 lets you control the look and feel of every element on a web page without having to use images or JavaScript. For example, you can now use gradients, shadows, and rounded corners without having to create separate images or files.
View ExercisesI also learned about JavaScript, a programming language that lets you add interactivity to your web pages. With JavaScript, you can create animations, make things happen when users click on buttons or links, and much more.
View ExercisesI learned about jQuery, an open-source JavaScript library that makes it easy to manipulate web pages using CSS selectors. It’s rapidly becoming the standard way of working with HTML5 and AJAX.
View ExercisesI learned about XML and how it can be used to structure data. I learned about how similar it is to HTML with regards to structure and also how different it is. Mainly how I can define my nodes and child nodes.
View ExercisesI learned about the structure of JSON files which was pretty easy after learning about XML. I created my own JSON file based on the XML file. I learned about Object calls and Array calls using JSON.
View ExercisesAJAX is a type of JavaScript that allows you to update parts of a page without having to reload the whole thing. All modern web browsers support AJAX in some form or another, so web pages can be much more responsive.
View ExercisesThe Responsive Web Design lessons taught me to bring some of the topics we learned together including JS, JQuery, HTML5 and CSS. I specifically used the Bootstrap Framework for my RWD Site.
View ExercisesThis is where my Capstone Project lives. The Professsor has assessed my work and will decide whether or not I meet the requirements for the Captone Project.
